I'm a teacher, a maker, and an artist from Houston, Texas. I fell in love with the process of pottery after taking a studio class in college. I am a daughter of Mexican immigrant parents, who worked hard to give me the opportunity to teach and create art. They instilled in me to "echarle ganas" y "aserle la luchita"
My work is simple and functional — because honestly, that's how I like things. I love the process of making art; it's messy, it's fun, and most importantly, it's intuitive. I've always considered myself more of a maker than an artist, and I wear that title proudly. As a maker, I'm fascinated by the process — the tools, the techniques, the rhythm of working with different mediums. The final piece is exciting, don't get me wrong, but for me, the real magic lives in the making itself.
